Breakdown: Moody has taken a big step forward by getting into the postseason and winning a game, but it will need its best effort of the season to keep advancing.
Shiner is a physical team that plays stellar defense. In fact, the Comanches haven’t given up a point in any of their last three games and have seven shutouts. They limited three other teams to seven points, meaning only twice has an opponent scored more than 10.
Before last week, Moody had scored 30-plus points in four straight games, and QB Toby Smith has 1,966 yards and 16 touchdowns passing. He has thrown 11 interceptions, however.
The Comanches play a physical style on offense that relies on the run, and they have a 1,000-yard rusher in Dadrian Taylor. QB Ty Boedeker uses the effectiveness of the running game to beat opponents with play-action passes.
