The Comanches will hit the road for the first time in several weeks as they travel to Weimar.

"It is going to be a big game because Weimar is 6-1 and also 2-0 in district," Shiner head coach Steven Cerny said. "We have to make sure we are prepared"

The Wildcat offense is similar to what the Comanches run.

"They line up in the split back, and will run the dive, sweep and quick pitch," Cerny said. "They will throw the ball around eight to 12 times a game."

Weimar’s offense will be led by running back duo of Curry Johnson and Jacory Gordon.

Cerny said the Shiner defensive line will need to have another great game.

The 'Cats line up the split and 4-3 on defense, similar to what Ganado ran on Friday.

"Our offensive line must block well," Cerny said.

Starting quarterback Brandon Cerny left the Ganado game with injury and is expected to be out of commission for a while. Dustin Petras took at quarterback in that game and Shiner also has receiver Ty Boedeker available at the position as well.

Steven Cerny said both quarterbacks are well versed in running the offense as Brandon Cerny did.

"Ty is probably going to be the starter and it might be in a situation where we use both of them," Steven Cerny said.

Key players on the Weimar defense are linebacker Clay Firkins and noseguard James Nino.
