SHINER - Ty Boedeker is one of only three seniors who started last year for Shiner.
But Boedeker never doubted the Comanches' chances for success.
"We come out here every day, and there is competition between everyone at practice,"
he said. "We have competition with each other, and we work hard every single day with
each other."
Shiner has brought the hard work it does in practice into games, and it paid off again
in a 5-2 District 28-2A win over No. 6 Weimar on a windy Tuesday night at Green-Dickson Park.
The Comanches (10-2) improved to 6-0 and took over sole possession of the district lead.
"They've gotten better since the beginning of the year," said Shiner coach Daniel Boedeker.
"All we ask them to do is work to get better and they start to get more confidence the
more they play."

Boedeker led the Comanches at the plate and on the mound. He scattered five hits and did
not allow an earned run while pitching a complete game.
"He kept his composure and made his pitches when we had to," Daniel Boedeker said of his
son. "We're proud of his effort."
Boedeker also led off with a triple in Shiner's three-run first inning and hit a RBI
double in the second.
Sophomore Collin Bujnoch added two hits and two RBIs for the Comanches, who had nine hits
into a strong wind that was blowing in from left field to right field.
"Coach always says to be aggressive early and hit the first pitch if it's there," Bujnoch
said, "so we did."
Brody Gall had three hits for the Wildcats (8-5, 5-1), who had base runners in every inning
but the sixth, but scored only in the third.
"You take a three-run lead in the first, and it changes the whole thing," said Weimar coach
Lee Mueller. "You're allowed to do more, and it puts a whole lot more pressure on us.
But Ty pitched a great game and kept us off balance and that was a big key as well."
