Shiner Comanche Football SHINER - When Shiner running back Dadrian Taylor finds the end zone, he doesn't hesitate to give praise to his teammates.

"I can't take credit for all of it," the senior said. "I had good blocking. The offensive line executed great blocks, and I was able to read the holes and score."

Shiner scored plenty and often in a 48-0 shutout of Falls City on Friday night at Comanche Stadium.

Taylor rushed for 163 yards on eight carries for the Comanches, who improved to 3-1.

Taylor scored 28 of the 48 points for the Comanches with touchdown runs of 26, 42, 37, and 15 yards. All of his touchdowns were scored in the first half.

"Every time I touch the ball, I'm thinking I can score a touchdown," Taylor said. "I have a great line and if you put all that together, magic happens."

With just three seconds left in the first half, Shiner quarterback Brandon Cerny connected with wide receiver Ty Boedeker for a 24-yard touchdown pass.

"I just saw it was getting close to halftime, and I wanted to give my guy a chance to catch the ball and we got a touchdown right before the half," Cerny said.

Cerny went 5-for-7 with for 73 yards, and rushed four times for 46 yards.

"He did really good tonight," Cerny said. "He always finds a way to get in the end zone. I like handing the ball to him, or if I need to block for him, I will, too."

Shiner led Falls City (1-3) 35-0 at halftime.

"I liked the way we came out," said Shiner head coach Steven Cerny. "We were very intense and focused in our pre-game. Our overall speed and quickness showed tonight and that was our biggest advantage."

Brandon Cerny and Taylor sat out the second half, but the Comanches offense kept clicking.

On defense, Tyler Mikes got an interception, then scored on an 11-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to give Shiner a 42-0 lead.

As a team, the Comanches rushed for a total of 286 yards.

Beavers quarterback Derrick Gonzalez led the Beavers with 57 yards rushing on 12 carries.

Steven Cerny liked the way his defense shut out the Beavers.

"We challenged the defense all week because we felt like we have been giving up too many yards and too many points," Steven Cerny said. "I think they rose to the occasion and really stepped up."

The Comanches' defense allowed the Beavers a total of 70 yards on offense.

Dequan Hall scored Shiner's final touchdown - a 7-yard run.

"I thought it was a great performance overall on offense and defense," Cerny said. "I think we have improved every week. Our offensive line is getting better, and we're just playing good football right now."
