Shiner Comanches at Schulenburg Shorthorns
Last year: Schulenburg, 35-17.
Notes: Shiner (7-1, 2-1) and Schulenburg (2-6, 2-1) play for the ninth-straight season. The previous eight meetings were non-district games and Schulenburg holds a 6-2 edge.
The winner of this game will clinch a playoff berth.
Shiner is ranked No. 8 in the state poll. Shiner has rushed for a district-leading 2,719 yards. Shiner's Tyler Patek has rushed for a district-leading 865 yards and 10 touchdowns; Chad Neubauer has rushed for 821 yards and 14 touchdowns, and Blake Michalec has rushed for 548 yards and seven touchdowns.
Schulenburg's Javeon Lara has rushed for 703 yards and five touchdowns.
