FLORESVILLE - Shiner's Scott Shimek tossed a two-hitter and struck out 11, and his offense gave him more than enough run support to help the Comanches take a 11-0 rout over Ben Bolt.

Shiner wins the best-of-three Class 1A area series 2-0 and will play Burton in Weimar on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

"Shimek pitched real well tonight," Shiner head coach Daniel Boedecker said. "We scored in the first couple innings and that helped Scott get in his groove with this defense behind him."

Chris Baer went 2-for-3 and Garet Pustka 3-for-4 with 3 RBI to lead the Comanches (18-8). Jared Boedeker also went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
