WEIMAR - Garet Pustka tossed a two-hitter and struck out 11 as the Shiner Comanches knocked off the Burton Panthers 11-0 in a Class 1A regional semifinal.
Pustka's sacrifice fly and an RBI single by Brady Strauss gave the Comanches (19-8) all the runs they needed in the first inning.
Pustka added an RBI single and Chris Baer tripled in a three-run fifth.
The Comanches put the game away with another trio of runs in the sixth and seventh against the Panthers (13-12).
"They had a real good pitcher," Shiner coach Daniel Boedeker said. "I expected more of a pitchers' duel. The key was we jumped on them early and that gave our kids confidence that we could hit this guy."
Chase O'Connor, who was 3-for-4, drove home a run in the sixth with a single, while Dylan Hagens added a two-run double in the seventh.
The Comanches will face the D'Hanis-Thorndale winner in the regional final.
