Shiner at Tidehaven Scrimmage

Shiner scrimmaged a Tidehaven team whose current squad was bigger than Shiner.
"We did some good things on both sides of the football," Shiner head coach Daniel Boedeker said. "We installed some new things in our passing game and looked good."
As always for Shiner, offensive-line blocking will be crucial.
"On our offensive line, we need to improve our pad level and steps," he said. "We found out how important our positioning on the line is. Running backs did well."
The defense allowed a couple of big plays but overall did well.
"We ran to the football well and we tackled better than I anticipated we would," Boedeker said.
Shiner will host Ganado starting at 5 p.m. today ( Thursday, August 21, 2025 ) at home in the Towel Scrimmage. Fans are asked to bring white towels or HE laundry detergent to donate to the Shiner ISD athletic department.
Shiner plays at Hallettsville on Aug. 29 at 7:30 to start the regular season.
