in first season of play in Class 2A-DII

For at least the next two years, the Shiner Comanches football team will play in 2ADII following the UIL realignment and reclassification in February.
The Comanches were placed in 15-2ADII alongside Falls City, Charlotte, Louise, Pettus and Yorktown.
Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine has predicted the Comanches to win the district in their first season of 2ADII. DCTF predicts Falls City to come in second place, followed by Yorktown and Louise.
The Comanches return 17 lettermen, seven offensive and eight defensive starters. Shiner was 5-7 (4-2) and reached the area round.
Shiner will lack size but has experience at almost every position. Quarterback Carson Schuette (744 passing yards, six passing touchdowns, 386 rushing yards, six touchdowns) should be solid having run the veer offense last year.
Kye Adamek (tight end-linebacker, 85 tackles), Barrett Shelton (lineman) and Jared Werner (lineman) will contribute to both sides of the football.
The magazine also listed wide receiver-defensive back Jake Simper, tight end-defensive lineman Bode Werner, offensive-defensive lineman Kason Dement, wide receiver-defensive back Boe Boehm and running back-defensive back Quincy Jones as other players to watch.
Head coach Daniel Boedeker is entering his sixth year as head coach. He currently has a record of 58-11 and two Class 2A-DI state championships (2020, 2021) in his tenure.
