This week, the Shiner St. Paul Cardinals make the short trip to Schulenburg while the Shiner Comanches host fairly new program San Antonio Davenport.


S.A. DAVENPORT WOLVES AT SHINER COMANCHES

San Antonio Davenport (Comal ISD) opened its doors to students in August of 2020. This year's Wolves' team will field juniors and sophomores.

"Right now they have about 46 players on varsity. They do field junior varsity and freshman teams," Comanches head coach Daniel Boedeker said.

Davenport runs a balanced spread on offense led by quarterback Triston Hamlin and helped out by running back Shastin Golden.

"They will mix up the run and the pass," Boedeker said.

Davenport runs the 50 on defense and will likely come out in a 5-3 to try to stop the Shiner running game.

Boedeker said Shiner will have to block the interior defensive linemen and the linebackers to be able to run the ball well.
