Shiner Comanche Football Final regular-season games are this week for the Shiner teams. The Shiner St. Paul Cardinals host SA St. Gerard while the Shiner Comanches travel to Wallis Brazos.

Having already wrapped a playoff spot, the Shiner Comanches (9-0) can claim the district championship with a win at Brazos tomorrow (Friday).

Brazos is 1-2 in district and will be looking to finish with a win.

“We know it will be a battle for us as they will be fighting for a playoff spot,” Shiner head coach Daniel Boedeker said.

The Cougars line up in the spread on offense and will run the ball lots with Malcolm Toles and Jeremira Minters who both average around 8.0 yards a carry. Jaylin Vela is the main receiving threat.

Boedeker said the Comanches will need to key on those three offensive players.

The Brazos defense lines up in the split but will mix it up; they like coming with outside blitzes from defensive ends and outside linebackers.

The Comanche lineman will need to play their assignments well.

The Comanches were off last week after defeating Kenedy in the final regular-season home game.
