GOLIAD TIGERS AT SHINER COMANCHES
Shiner returns to home for the first time since September 6 and they will host the Goliad Tigers who are winless after the first four games.
“It will be a difficult matchup for us. Goliad will be dangerous as they are seeking that first win. They have played four really good football teams and have struggled with turnovers,” Shiner head coach Daniel Boedeker said. “Goliad has good size on both of their offensive and defensive line.”
Goliad in the past has been multiple on offense but will likely use a spread system.
“They have a fast running back, solid receivers and a dual-threat quarterback,” Boedeker said. “Their scheme is similar to what we saw against Tidehaven.”
The Tigers will be lead by running back Shaun Justice and quarterback Rocky Morris.
The Tigers run a 5-3 on defense and like to stack the box to attack the run. “Our offense has to be more consistent, stay on blocks longer, take care of the ball and have long drives,” Boedeker said.
