Regional finalist Comanches win four superlative All-District awards

The Shiner Comanches dominated the 2018 15-2A-1 All-District football superlatives.
These Comanches were among the Shiner players selected for District 15-2A-1 All-District honors this season.

Junior running back/safety Donyai Taylor was named the District MVP; senior running back/linebacker Lane Nevlud was Co-Defensive MVP; freshman fullback/noseguard Doug Brooks made Newcomer of the Year and the Shiner football coaches were chosen as Staff of the Year.
Chosen for First Team Offense was sophomore running back Zane Rhodes, senior center Cody Rainosek, junior tight end Cole Patek, senior linemen Michael Rodriquez and Kason Landman, and junior kicker Cross Rankin.
Making the First Team Defense was Rodriquez at defensive end; Landman at defensive tackle, senior Chris Reyes at defensive tackle; senior linebacker Collin Bujnoch, junior defensive back Devin Lehnert and senior defensive back Hunter Kloesel.
Second Team Offense selections were senior quarterback Tyler Mikes, Bujnoch at running back; junior lineman Gage Brooks, senior lineman Brendan Yoakum, Rankin at tight end, and Kloesel and Lehnert at wide receiver.
On the Second Team Defense was Patek at defensive end; junior linebacker CJ Miller and junior defensive back Jacquez Miller.
Sophomore Tyler Palmer made All-District Utility.
Shiner went 9-1 in the regular season, captured the district title, won the bi-district and area round games and finished as regional finalists at 11-2.
