The Comanches have played Refugio in district over the last several years and a couple of times in the playoffs but were in separate districts this year.

“Refugio has size on the lines and has lots of speed,” Shiner head coach Steven Cerny said.

The Bobcats run a balanced offense out of the spread and run a 5-2 on defense with man coverage.

The ‘Cats rotate quarterbacks Austin Ochoa and Jordan Kelley, both are good passers. Ysidro Mascorro and Naaji Gadsden are the main rushing threats.

Cerny said because Shiner is bigger this year, that the Comanches should match up pretty well with Refugio.
