Tyler Palmer rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns while getting a 12-yard touchdown catch, complimented by Zane Rhodes who ran eight times for 145 yards and two touchdowns as the Comanches opened district with a 42-8 pounding of Yorktown Friday ( October 12, 2018 ).

Tyler Mikes hit 2-for-4 passes for 33 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception, and ran for 86 yards and one score. Doug Brooks had 41 yards on six carries with Collin Bujnoch and Trevor Haynes adding to the Shiner rushing. Devin Lehnert had one catch for 21 yards.

After a scoreless opening quarter, Palmer scored on an 11-yard run just two seconds into the second period. Mikes added a 1-yard run at the 6:26 mark and Palmer put the Comanches ahead 21-0 with 1:03 left on a 3-yard run.

Early in the third quarter, Rhodes had a 71-yard run; Palmer took a 12-yard touchdown pass from Mikes with 3:45 left in the third and Rhodes had a 50-yard run as time expired in the quarter.

The Wildcats got on the board with 20 seconds left in the game on a 27-yard run by Mark Guerrero and successfully made the two-point conversion for the final score of 42-8.

Shiner will host the Weimar Wildcats at Comanche Stadium this week ( Friday, October 19, 2018 ).
