The Lexington Eagles outscored Shiner 28-0 in the second half to take down a 21-7 Shiner halftime lead at Eagle Stadium in Lexington to give the Comanches their first loss of the season ( on Friday, October 5, 2018 ).

Shiner took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on runs of 60 and 53 yards from Donyai Taylor.

The Eagles got on the scoreboard early in the second period with a 54-yard pass from Sheldon Springer to Jemarie White.

The Comanches scored again as Tyler Mikes found Cole Patek for a 53-yard pass with less than two minutes left in the first half.

Ja’Kobe Cooper scored on a 24-yard run, Springer had a 3-yard run and tossed a 22-yard pass to Jordan Kerr for scoring plays in the third frame to put the Eagles ahead 28-21 after the third period.

Aaron Allert got an insurance touchdown on a 2-yard run with less than six minutes left in the game.

Shiner opens district next Friday ( October 12, 2018 ) at Yorktown.
