The Shiner Lady Comanches family endured a long trip to the Houston area as they beat Sabine Pass, 10-0, Friday ( May 5, 2017) in the 2A area round at Tomball High School. Shiner took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, scored twice in the third and plated seven runs in the fifth inning.
Bethany Nevlud got the win with one-hitter shutout, two walks and four strikeouts. Kassidy Bishop was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer. Lauren Schuette batted 2-for-3, run, two RBI and two doubles; Taylor Wenske went 2-for-3, run and two RBI; Mackinly Pilat was 1-for-2 with two runs; Kailey Williams hit 1-for-2, run and RBI; Lauren Haas was 1-for-2, two runs, RBI and Madison Jalufka had one RBI.
Shiner will battle Milano in the regional quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, May 12, 2017) at La Grange High School.
