Game Preview: Three Rivers Bulldogs at Shiner Comanches

It's playoff time for the Shiner Comanches and it will the first-ever home playoff game in the history of the Purple and Gold as they will host Three Rivers today ( Thursday, November 10, 2016 ) at 7:00 p.m. at Comanche Stadium.

"They are going to be a very physical team," Comanches head coach Steven Cerny said. The Bulldogs run the Slot-T on offense, led by quarterback Austin Black.

"He is good at carrying out fakes and misdirections," Cerny said.

The Shiner defense will also strive to contain running back Zach Zamzow, fullback Jacob Prather and running back Brandon Silva.

"Three Rivers is happy getting three or four yards a play," Cerny said. "Our defensive line has to do a good job of playing technique because the Bulldogs like to trap a lot.

On defense, Three Rivers goes with a four or five-man front and can shift into the split and "weak eagle". "Three Rivers is big up front," Cerny said.

Shiner's offense will have to match the physical play of the 'Dogs. "We need to be extremely physical and get our veer offense going," he said.

Key players on Three Rivers' defense are Black at linebacker, Adrian Manzano (linebacker) and lineman Keyton Castro.

Cerny announced that in honor of Veteran's Day, any former or current member of the US Armed Forces with a military ID will receive free admission to the game.
