Game Preview: Shiner Comanches at Kenedy Lions

The Shiner Comanches wrap the non-district schedule for 2016 with a trip to Hitchcock, to face the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Friday (tomorrow, September 23, 2016).

The Comanches come into the district opener at 3-2 and fresh off their bye week.

The Comanche defense expects the Lions to be multiple on offense.

"They try to get you misaligned," Shiner head coach Steven Cerny said. "We need to play good technique and make good open field tackles."

Kenedy main threats will be quarterback Caleb Sotelo and running back Jarren Jaramillo.

On defense, Kenedy runs the 5-2 and has come out in the 4-4 stack in the past. The Lions love to stunt.

"We must be able to pick up the stunts," Cerny said. "Not picking up stunts hurt us a little against Hitchcock. We have to watch those linebackers."

Kenedy's main defensive players are linebackers Lee Garza and Jeron Villarreal.
