The Comanches closed non-district with a 22-20 setback to Hitchcock on what could be the longest Comanche road trip of the season.
Shiner (3-2) opened scoring with an 8-yard run by Dadrian Taylor late in the first frame. The point after was missed, leaving the Comanches ahead 6-0.
Hitchcock got a 77- yard touchdown run by Michael Parker with Xavian Hampton on the two-point run to give the Bulldogs an 8-6 lead with 8:14 left in the first half.
Hitchcock extended their lead to 14-6 late in the third quarter on a 9-yard run by Tyonre Turner with a failed two-point play.
The Comanches scored twice in the fourth quarter to go up 20-14 Ty Boedeker caught a halfback pass from Charles Haynes from 42 yards just a few seconds into the quarter and quarterback Brandon Cerny had a 3-yard run with 5:27 left in the game.
Hitchcock got the game winner with Parkers 37-yard touchdown pass to LeChristoper Wilson and Parker got the two-point conversion.
The Comanches are off this Friday and open district at Kenedy on Oct. 7.
