The 2015 UIL Region IV Cross Country Championship Meet was held on Monday, October 26th on the Momentum Campus of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Here are the results for Gonzales-area teams:


Region IV, Class 1A

The Moulton girls are off to state after taking home the Region IV-1A title with 74 points.

Individually, Rayvin Kalisek was No. 18 in 14:33.7; Janeth Colchado was No. 21 in 14:47.3; Mercedes Manzano was No. 23 in 14:49.6; Hannah Kalisek was No. 25 in 14:50.5; Angelina Guzman was No. 32 in 15:05.1; Angelia Colchado was No. 51 in 15:53.1 and Mandi Mitchon was No. 95 in 17:51.5.

The Bob Kittens will be joined by Bob Katz who came in fourth place with 135 points. Fernando Euceda was No. 13 in 19:33.6; Ireneo Barbosa was No. 28 in 20:20.4; Holden Jahn was No. 29 in 20:23.3; Gavin Paton was No. 43 in 21:12.6; Conor Blahuta was No. 53 in 21:37.4; Kyle Trejo was No. 66 in 22:21.2 and Daniel Garcia was No. 72 in 22:55.9.


Region IV, Class 2A

In the Region IV-2A girls, Shiner came in ninth with 247 points. Maggie Grosenbacher was seventh in 13:05.3; Brooke Kloesel was No. 17 in 13:30.3; Jenna Berkovsky was No. 60 in 14:36; Greta Grosenbacher was No. 85 in 15:45.5; Sarah Tronicek was No. 104 in 16:19.6; Alexis Rainosek was No. 111 in 16:40.3 and Jayde Kurtz was No. 117 in 16:56.4.

The Comanches had Noah Matthews come in No. 67 in 21:22.2.

Maggie Grosenbacher (Sr) and Brooke Kloesel (Soph) qualified for the UIL State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 7 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. The 2A Girls will run at 2:40pm.


Region IV, Class 3A

Luling's Buster Roberts came in second in 16 minutes, 39.3 seconds; Peyton Roberts was sixth in 17:21.1; Issac Castillo was seventh with 17:29.4; Leonardo Reyna was No. 14 in 17:57 and Bronc Roberts followed in 17:57.9. Gonzales Anthunie was No. 18 in 18:23.30 and Samuel Renteria was No. 40 in 19:11.5.

Luling Lady Eagle runer Celina Hernandez came in No. 21 with 13:25.3.


Region IV, Class 4A

The Gonzales Lady Apaches finished No. 17 as a team at the Region IV-4A meet in Corpus Christi with 472 points.

Romy Cantu led Gonzales with No. 67 in 13:39.6; Seidy Villegras was No. 98 in 14:03.5; Ashleigh Haub was No. 120 in 14:26.3; Haley Garza was No. 126 in 14:31.8; Hannah Rowland was No. 128 with 14:32.3; Blanca Hernandez was No. 133 in 14:41.9 and Maura Garcia was No. 135 in 14:44.7.
