BUDA -- Coy Schneider and Aubrey White took advantage of everything the Shiner Comanches gave them Friday night, leading the Thorndale Bulldogs to a 47-27 victory in Class 1A regional playoff at Rebel Field.
White and Schneider combined for 450 yards of offense and seven touchdowns as the Bulldogs improved to 11-1 and advanced to the quarterfinals. The Bulldogs will meet the Flatonia-West Sabine winner.
Shiner finished the year with a record of 11-2.
Schneider was nearly a one-man show himself as he caught a touchdown pass, returned a kickoff for a touchdown, and ran for three more, as he rushed for 211 yards on 15 carries.
But with his counterpart White adding 212 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns, the Bulldogs were more that the Comanches could handle.
Schneider put the Bulldogs up 6-0 with 7:52 to play in the first quarter on a 29-yard scamper.
The Comanches appeared to stop the Bulldogs on their next drive when Quentin Wright came up with an interception, but he was stripped of the ball and the Bulldogs recovered. Schneider then went 55 yards to put Thorndale up 12-0 when a two-point conversion failed.
Wright, who had 95 yards on nine carries, put the Comanches right back into the contest scoring on a 33-yard scamper, with R.J. Lester adding the extra point.
Shiner took its lone lead with 46 seconds to play in the half when Wright hauled in a 34-yard pass from Steven Evans for a TD. But the lead didn't last long as Schneider returned the kickoff 82 yards giving the Bulldogs an 18-13 halftime lead.
It was all Thorndale in the third quarter as White and Schneider each ran 80 yards for touchdowns, then hooked up on a 26-yard scoring strike.
Eric Murphy, who led the Comanches with 115 yards on 16 carries, kept Shiner close with a 7-yard run.
