No. 1 Shiner (11-0) and Charlotte (7-3) were district opponents last season. Shiner went on the road to defeat Charlotte 35-14.
Last week, Shiner cruised to a 44-0 bi-district win over Benavides, while Charlotte had a bi-district bye. Charlotte finished second in District 29-1A behind No. 2 Brackettville, losing their head-to-head matchup 34-28. Charlotte also lost to Dilley and Riviera.
Shiner has outscored its opponents 461-67 this season, and its defense has six shutouts. Shiner's Chris Baer has rushed for 1,372 yards and 28 touchdowns and has scored an area-leading 172 points.
The winner will play the winner of tonight's game between Chilton and Harper in the regional round.
