WIMBERLEY -- Garet Pustka threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Shiner Comanches pounded the Medina Bobcats 42-6 in a Class 1A bi-district matchup.
Shiner (7-3) will now face Agua Dulce in an area contest, while Medina finished at 8-4.
Pustka hooked up with Devin Carroll on a 75-yard strike in the second quarter and then connected with Eric Murphy on a 20-yard score to open the third period.
After Bryan Franklin scampered into the end zone on an 11-yard run, Pustka struck again less than a minute later on a 1-yard TD run to give the Comanches a 34-0 lead with 5:10 left in the third.
Chris Baer crashed in from 6 yards out with 1:02 left in the period and Pustka ran in the two- point conversion to ice the game at 42-0.
Medina managed to avoid the shutout with 5:33 to play when J.P. Suentes blocked a punt and Matt McMillian recovered for a touchdown.
Eric Murphy opened the Comanches' scoring with a 40-yard scamper in the opening quarter, then Pustka connected with Devin Carroll for a 75-yard touchdown pass with 4:28 remaining in the second quarter.
Shiner (7-3, 4-1) will play Agua Dulce in the second round of area playoffs.
