Six Shiner softball players named to all-tourney team

AUSTIN - After winning the Class 1A State Championship, six Shiner Lady Comanches received individual honors by the Texas Association of Girls Coaches.

Pitcher Ashley Shimek, catcher Holly Haas, first baseman Jordan Pietsch, second baseman Ryan Michalec, third baseman Julianna Rankin and outfielder Stacey Perez were named to the Class 1A Softball State All-Tournament.
Shimek was named the state final Most Valuable Player and Michalec drove in the winning run in Shiner's 1-0 win over Grapeland.
