SHINER - Dexter Mayberry and the Shiner Comanches just about ran all over, under, and through the Falls City Beavers in a 27-0 District 31-1A win.
Mayberry scored on a 1-yard run at the 8:36 mark and 4-yard run later in the first quarter with 2:29 to go. Shiner quarterback Kyle Condel gave Mayberry a break between scores as he aired one out to Adam Kalich for 57 yards. Condel finished at 4-7 for 126 yards. Mayberry ended with 103 yards rusing on 13 carries and three touchdowns.
To the Beavers' credit, their defense held the Comanches (5-4, 4-1) scoreless in the second and third quarters and managed to give up only one score in the fourth. Unfortunately for Falls City (5-4, 4-1), the major damage was already done.
The Beavers put up 123 yards on the ground by using a running back committee of Cameron Wright, Elliot Dzuik, Kyle Johnson, Andrew Liska, and Johnothan Herber. Falls City also put up 144 yards from Wright, but were not able to cap off any of that offense with a score.
