SHINER - Chris Baer ran for four touchdowns and the Class 1A 8th-ranked Shiner Comanche defense recorded its third straight shutout witha 54-0 victory over the Runge Yellowjackets.
The Comanches improved to 7-1 on the year and 3-0 in District 30-1A, while Runge fell to 0-8, 0-3, and dropped their 18th consecutive game.
Baer, who rushed for 92 yards on five carries, gave the Comanches all the points they needed in the first quarter with scoring runs of 18 and 6 yards.
Shiner blew the contest open in the second quarter as Steven Evans sprinted 66 yard for a TD, Baer added a 24-yard TD run and Garet Pustka hooked up with Quentin Wright on a 33-yard TD pass.
Eric Murphy finished off the second quarter scoring with an 18-yard TD run and a 40-0 lead.
Baer broke free on a 36-yard TD scamper early in the third quarter and Kensley Wright, who had 89 yards on three carries, sprinted 76 yard for the final score.
R.J. Lester added six extra points.
