RUNGE - The Shiner Comanches erupted for 40 first-half points en route to a 46-13 District 30-1A victory over the Runge Yellow Jackets.

Shiner (8-0, 3-0) had two touchdown runs each from Quentin Wright, Chris Baer and Garet Pustka in the first half.

The Comanches sat their first-string offense for most of the second half.

Runge (4-4, 1-2) scored both its touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Gabriel Gutierrez caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Jaime Garza with 11:26 left and Daniel Salazar recovered a Shiner fumble in the Comanches end zone to pull the Yellow Jackets within 40-13.

Shiner added its final score with 1:35 left on Mason McCorkle's 5-yard TD run.
