SEGUIN - Shiner's defense dominated Johnson City's offense, holding the Eagles to just 19 total yards with -4 yards rushing and only three first downs.

Marlon Wallace scored three touchdowns for the Comanches, scoring on runs of 35, 1 and 8 yards. He finished the night with 14 carries for 81 yards.

Quarterback Wesley Patek scored twice for Shiner, the first on a 34-yard pass to Brady Beal and the second, less than four minutes later, on an 8- yard run.

Joey Gomez, the team's leading rusher, scored on a 7-yard run. Gomez carried the ball 13 times for 139 yards, averaging more than 10 yards per carry.

Brady Beal rounded up the offensive scoring on a 9-yard run.

Shiner's defensive performance wouldn't have been complete without a score, which they did with 20 seconds remaining in the game when Lucian Blaschke took in an interception 42 yards for a touchdown.

Johnson City (6-5) scored twice, once on a 92-yard kickoff return and again on a short pass in the fourth quarter.

Shiner (6-6) will next face Mason who beat Ben Bolt Friday night.
