SHINER - Top-ranked Shiner was nearly perfect, scoring in every quarter en route to a 40-0 trashing of the Falls City Beavers in a District 31-1A matchup.

The Comanches' defense limited the Beavers (3-3, 0-2) to four first downs, 45 yards rushing and 20 yards passing, while the Comanches (5-0, 1-0) rolled up 236 total yards of offense.
The Comanches used their defense to set up the only score they needed early in the first quarter.
Following a Scott Shimek fumble recovery at the Beavers' 6, Shiner's Kenzley Wright needed just one play to score. Shimek tacked on the point after for a 7-0 lead at the 11:23 mark of the first period.
Shiner iced the game in the second quarter.
Nick Evans hauled in a 14-yard TD pass from Trey Curtis and Chris Baer, who had 75 yards rushing on 19 carries, blasted into the end zone from 16 and 4 yards out for a 27-0 halftime lead.
Shimek nailed field goals of 37 and 43 yards in the third quarter and Wright added a 2-yard TD run in the fourth quarter to finish off the scoring.
