SHINER - The Boling Bulldogs beat the Shiner Comanches 27-20 in a close battle to remain undefeated for the year. Shawn Jimenez was first to score with an 11-yard pass reception to Carlton Waddy with 2:06 left in the first quarter. Jared Waddy kicked the extra point.

Then Sam Jackson ran back an interception for 56 yards with 1:12 left in the first half. The kick failed.

In the third, Carlton Waddy ran 34 yards to score with 4:31 left in the third quarter. He attempted a 2-point run, but it failed.

Carlton Waddy, who had 19 rushes for 126 yards, then ran 74 yards in the fourth quarter for the final Bulldogs score. His 2-point extra point attempt was good.

Shiner’s scores were a 39-yard pass reception from R.J. Lester to Todd Wenske with 3:44 left in the second quarter, Lester’s kick was good; a 45-yard run by Chris Baer with 3:38 left in the third quarter, Lester's kick failed; and a 1-yard run by Lester with 3:16 left in the game, his kick was good.

Baer was Shiner’s leading rusher with 15 carries for ll7 yards. Lester had 8 carries for 20 yards. Lester also passed for 68 yards with 4 completions on 8 attempts. Wenske was Shiner’s leading receiver with 1 catch for 39 yards.

Shiner is now 2-1 for the season. The win pushed Boling to an un-defeated 3-0.
