ELGIN - Shiner's run ended after the Comanches lost 23-0 to the undefeated Goldthwaite Eagles in a Class 1A, Division I Regional game.

Shiner (9-2) had trouble moving the ball as the Eagles shut down the Comanche offense. Shiner was only able to generate 106 yards of total offense, only 17 of which was passing. Josh Greathouse garnered the most yardage for Shiner, rushing 12 times for 68 yards.

Goldthwaite (12-0) first score came early in the second quarter when Tyler Horton hit Garrett Schwarcz on a 29-yard pass.

The Eagles scored again in the second when Luis Arredondo hit a 23-yard field goal.

After a scoreless third quarter, Goldthwaite scored twice, first on a 4 yard run by James Hardin, then on an 86-yard run from Jonathan Williams.

Goldthwaite will next play the winner of Saturday's Yorktown-Junction game in the quarterfinals.
