DIVISION I AREA
SHINER COMANCHES VS. BRACKETTVILLE TIGERS
FRI 11/23 @ 7:30 PM, SOMERSET
NOTES: Shiner (8-3) cruised to a 48-0 bi-district win over Ben Bolt, while Brackettville (6-4) had a bye. Shiner and Brackettville played in the regional round last season with Shiner taking a 22-19 win. The teams also played in the 2004 quarterfinals with Shiner winning 21-7. Shiner is making its eighth straight playoff appearance since becoming a Class 1A school and has advanced past the second round each year. Shiner’s D.J. Pustka rushed for three touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass in the win over Ben Bolt. Pustka and teammates Kyle Condel and Cody Franke have combined to rush for 2,166 yards and 37 touchdowns. Winner plays the winner of tonight’s Normangee-Granger game in the quarterfinals.

DIVISION II AREA
LOUISE HORNETS VS. D’HANIS COWBOYS

NOTES: Louise (8-3) captured a 14-0 bi-district win over Bruni, while D’Hanis (10-0) had a bye. Louise and D’Hanis meet for the first time. Louise’s win over Bruni was its first playoff victory since 1986. Louise has gone 3-7 in the playoffs and is trying to advance past the second round for the first time. D’Hanis is 5-17 in the playoffs. Teams had common opponent in Falls City. D'Hanis beat Falls City 40-20 and Falls City defeated Louise 33-29. Louise’s Kyle Lawson has rushed for 1,258 yards and 14 touchdowns and Antwon Parsons has rushed for 910 yards and 11 touchdowns. Louise’s Chris Hicks has seven interceptions for a defense that has yielded an average of 13.7 points per game. D’Hanis’ Paden Lynch has passed for 1,530 yards and 16 touchdowns and Trey Mumme has rushed for 952 yards and 15 touchdowns and has 25 receptions for 562 yards and eight touchdowns. Winner plays the winner of tonight’s Bremond-Milano game in regional.

FLATONIA BULLDOGS VS. SABINAL YELLOWJACKETS
FRI 11/23 @ 7:30 PM, NEW BRAUNFELS CANYON
NOTES: Flatonia (7-4) captured a 21-20 bi-district win over La Villa, while Sabinal (8-2) had a bye. Flatonia and Sabinal meet for the first time. Flatonia is attempting to advance past the second round for the first time since 2003. Three of Flatonia’s last four games have been decided by six points or less. Sabinal lost to Johnson City and D’Hanis. Flatonia’s Adrian Lighteard rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns in the win over La Villa and on the season has rushed for 1.223 yards and 17 touchdowns. Sabinal’s Stevie Rodriguez has passed for 1,165 yards and 14 touchdowns and rushed for 935 yards and nine touchdowns. Winner plays the winner of tonight’s Chilton-Harper game in regional.
