AUSTIN - The Shiner Comanches took a 1-0 lead Wednesday in their best-of-three Class 1A regional final series with a 5-1 win over Thorndale.
The win moves Shiner to within one victory of capturing a berth in the UIL state baseball tournament. Game 2 of the series will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Burger Center.
