The Shiner Comanches rolled to yet another win with a 50-0 pounding of the Woodshoro Eagles in a District 31-1A contest last Friday in Woodsboro.

The Comanches remain undefeated at 8-0, 4-0, and have two more opponents in district play.
This Friday, the Comanches will face their toughest opponent of the year in the Flatonia Bulldogs. The Bulldog’s have also put up some impressive numbers and at the moment their running back Lyndon Gutierrez leads the area in rushing yards.
Shiner's Chris Baer is the areas scoring leader with 116 points.
So, Friday’s game will probably determine the district championship. Game time at Comanche Stadium is 7:30 pm.
Baer was agin the leading rusher for Shiner in Friday’s win with 120 yards on seven carries and three touchdowns. Baer scored on runs of 4, 14 and 48 yards and also ran in a 2-point conversion.
Isaac Casares carried eight times for 75 yards and one touchdown and Jared Boedeker had a 7-yard touchdown.

Quarterback Trey Curtis, who had 56 yards rushing, completed two of four passes, both for touchdowns.
Justin Cowan was on the receiving end of a 26-yard touchdown and Chase O'Connor pulled in an 18-yard scoring strike.
Scott Shimek was good on three PATs and added a 28-yard field goal in the final period to end the scoring.
The Comanche defense held the Eagles to -36 yards and forced nine punts in the game.
Clayton McCorkle set up Shiner's first touchdown with a fumble recovery on the Eagle 16-yard line. Three plays later Baer scored on a 4-yard run.
Shiner's next score came on on a 26-yard pass from Curtis to Cowan. Baer's 2-point conversion gave Shiner a 14-10 lead with 4:45 left in the first period.

Then with just :51 left in the period, Curtis connected with O'Connor with an 18-yard toss. Shimek's PAT made it 21-0.
The Comanches scored three times in the second quarter. Curtis' 50-yard run to the Eagle five set up Jared Boedeker’s touchdown run.
Two minutes later Baer rambled in from 14 yards out. Shimek tacked on one PAT for a 34-0 count.
Baer finished his night with a 48-yard scramble with 7:01 left in the half. The PAT failed but the Comanches enjoyed a 40-0 lead at intermission.
The reserves took over in the second half and continued Shiner's dominance. Isaac Casares capped a 45-yard drive with an 11-yard touchdown run in the third period. Shimek's PAT upped the score to 47-0.
Shimek tacked on another three points on a 28-yard field goal with 8:09 left in the game making the final 50-0.
Woodsboro made only one first down, that coming on the Eagles' first possession, thanks to a Shiner penalty.
The Eagles had one pass completion which went for 0 yards.
This Friday is also Parents' Night and parents of football players, band members and cheering squads will he recognized with ceremonies starting at approximately 6:45 pm.
