VANDERBILT -- Caleb Curtis and Trevion Flowers each scored two touchdowns as the Shiner Comanches pounded their way to a 36-13 win over the Industrial Cobras Friday.

Flowers and Curtis each scored on short runs as the state-ranked Comanches opened up an early 14-0 lead. Flowers capped a drive with a 1-yard dive with 3:07 left in the opening period, and Curtis helped the Comanches follow up on a turnover a minute later by crashing into the end zone from four yards out.

The Cobras came back, however, scoring on the final play of the first half. Jay Rubio nailed A.J. Rosas with a 20-yard TD pass to cut the Comanche lead to 14-7 at intermission.

Industrial pulled to within a point in the third period when Will Knopp scored on a 7-yard run, but the Comanches countered with a 13-yard TD run from Curtis late in the period to extend their lead to 22-13.

A 60-yard scoring jaunt by Flowers to open the fourth quarter extended the Comanches' lead, and a final 18-yard TD run by Jacob Stafford sealed the win for Shiner.

The Comanches pounded out 227 rushing yards on 34 carries in the contest.
