SHINER -- The Shiner Comanches rolled up the yards Friday, but couldn't overcome two second-quarter scoring runs by Industrial's Jake Smiley as the Cobras held off Shiner 20-7.
Smiley scored twice on 1-yard plunges in the final 2:28 of the first half to stake the Cobras to a 14-0 edge at intermission, and Industrial got a 7-yard scoring pass from Brice Pruitt to Allen Sellers on a halfback pass play to open a 20-0 lead before the Comanches got on the scoreboard on the final play of the third quarter when Evel Jones broke loose for a 22-yard TD run.
